TL431 Mason & McKee #146 civil war era Smith & Wesson revolver bullet. Two things interesting about this bullet. Many people have never seen the "bar" of lead on the solid base of this bullet variety.....see base photo. Its on this bullet variety but most of these bullets are bullets that were left as a whole cartridge & the black powder over 150 years or so erode or "cancker up" this bar of lead. Please notice the "slice" in the side of this bullet. By the way this is the second bullet just like this I have had. How did this slice get into the side of this bullet you ask?? Let's speculate: A solider carrying a S&W pistol during the civil war wants to start a camp fire. He takes out his pocket/side knife & cuts into a S&W cartridge to remove the bullet & pours the black powder onto campfire tender/kindling & starts a fire. The bullet is tossed away. That's my story anyways. This bullet is just as nice as it looks in my photo. $18.00
